Role Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving new originations and strategic partnershipsfor Capital Equipment Leasing. This role focuses on dealer onboarding, broker relationships, and direct-to-business growth across commercial equipment finance products.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven rainmaker with experience in equipment finance, MCA, commercial lending, or B2B sales.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Partnerships
- Source and develop new dealer, vendor, and referral partnerships
- Build relationships with equipment dealers, brokers, CPAs, and business owners
- Expand footprint in construction, transportation, medical, manufacturing, and logistics
Sales & Origination
- Generate and manage a consistent deal pipeline
- Qualify opportunities and coordinate with underwriting to close funded deals
- Present financing solutions (leases, loans, working capital) to prospects
Dealer & Broker Onboarding
- Educate partners on Capital Equipment Leasing’s programs and process
- Support dealers with sales tools, credit guidance, and deal structuring
- Maintain strong post-funding relationships to drive repeat volume
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Track competitor programs, rates, and structures
- Provide feedback on pricing, risk appetite, and new product opportunities
Reporting & CRM
- Maintain accurate CRM records (pipeline, funded volume, commissions)
- Report weekly on pipeline activity, closed deals, and forecasts
Qualifications
- 3+ years in equipment finance, commercial lending, MCA, or B2B sales
- Strong dealer and referral relationship skills
- Proven ability to close deals and exceed revenue targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset
Annual Earning Potential
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $120,000 – $180,000+
- Top performers with strong dealer books can exceed $200K+
New Funded Volume
- 1.0% – 1.5% of funded deal volume
- Example: $1,000,000 funded/month = $10,000–$15,000 commission
Dealer/Broker Origination Bonus
- $500–$1,000 bonus for each new active dealer that funds within 60 days
- Example: $1,000,000 funded/month = $10,000–$15,000 commission
