  • When follow-up turns into "just checking in," the rep has lost the thread

In MCA, most stalled deals do not need another generic touch. The rep needs a specific reason to reopen the conversation.
Before the next dial, write down what the merchant said mattered, what is still unresolved, and the smallest next step worth asking for. The follow-up should connect those points in plain language. If the rep cannot do that, another "just checking in" message only adds noise.
Managers can pull five stalled opportunities and score whether each follow-up uses the merchant's context, gives a relevant reason to talk, and asks for a clear next step. Then have the rep practice the same conversation with the objection or delay built in. Better follow-up gives the merchant a real reason to respond.
I work with Ava. Reps can practice realistic MCA and business-loan calls, get live coaching, and review the transcript and score after each attempt. Managers can use Call Review and team dashboards to see whether vague follow-up is repeating across the floor.
If this is a pattern on your floor, request early access at https://www.tryava.ai and tell me which follow-up moment you want reps to practice. What do you require a rep to bring to the second call besides "following up"?
