One of the things I am going to miss about this forum is watching how far the spam bots have come along in their manufactured conversations.

Investors - LC / Post-News IRA Strategy
October 07, 2020, 11:00:00 PM
Like many of you, I still have an active LC IRA through Strata. With the news that LC is closing their retail investment platform at the end the year, I'm curious if there are thoughts with regard to the best way to handle the situation.

With the secondary market already closed, I know there is no longer a way to quickly liquidate the account, so I'm concerned that we will continue to be charged the annual strata account fee while we endure the painful process of watching the loan value dwindle for the next 3-5 years.

Are people planning on continuing with strata (just using other investment vehicles)? For those of us intending to transfer the funds to another IRA, is there a good transfer strategy that minimizes fees?

Love to hear peoples thoughts/strategies. TIA

Cheap money is good and all, but there are drawbacks as well (including what we are seeing with savings rates) that I feel like no one really wants to acknowledge.

I anticipate the ride back up to normal rates + less overspending could be very painful.

Can't wait to see the NAR drop like a rock now that the first wave of hardship loans will be going through the formal delinquency accounting process.

Always found it odd that they were not counted as such in the first place.

Investors - LC / Returns during Covid-19 Economy
April 25, 2020, 11:00:00 PM
I have a small LC account (IRA) that is still active. I track performance closely, and was expecting a significant decrease in returns with the current state of the economy.

Surprising to see, however my returns have actually slightly increased over the last two months. From 7.4 at the beginning of the year to about 7.7 now. Knock on wood.......

Curious to hear how others returns are currently faring......

Investors - LC / Investing with MyConstant
January 07, 2020, 11:00:00 PM
I don't have investing experience with MyConstant, however it just takes a bit of research to make me uncomfortable with the concept.

It sounds like to me as a lender you are just loaning to crypto speculators.

Investors - LC / So Done.
October 22, 2019, 11:00:00 PM
There were several things that bothered me with LC/P when I was actively investing with these platforms, but I encountered the worst when I decided to stop investing: the liquidity (or lack thereof).

My only advice to those still investing is to consider how challenging it is to get out of this investment when you do make that decision. Right now your options are a fire sale on the secondary (assuming you're not on P), or waiting the 3-5 years for your notes to cycle through.

Outside of a small IRA, I decided to withdraw from LC/P investments a couple years ago. I am glad I made that decision when I did. After experiencing the lengthy withdrawal process like I currently am, I wouldn't want to have waited for a downturn in the economy to prompt me to do so.

Investors - LC / LC loan quality shift April 2019

In my IRA my 2018 idle cash average was $73. In 2019, my average is $175. Something is very different.
