Company is considering new ways to draw funding for its loans

Investors who "contributed a significant amount of funding" for loans have paused purchases to examine their performance "or are otherwise reluctant to invest," San Francisco-based LendingClub said, adding that the retreat is hurting its ability to field new loan applications.

Higher interest rates might be needed to bring back investors, "which may serve to erode the company's margins in the near term but may be necessary to get the company back on track," BTIG analysts including Mark Palmer and Giuliano Bologna wrote in a note to clients. Management has to re-instill confidence in LendingClub's platform "while the company contends with a legal overhang," they wrote.

Details of some of those arrangements were disclosed Monday: Acting CEO Scott Sanborn received a grant of restricted stock valued at $5 million and his salary was increased to $500,000. Chief Financial Officer Carrie Dolan received $3.5 million of restricted stock units and her salary was increased to $400,000. Both executives also received $500,000 cash awards that will pay out in a year.

LendingClub's troubles are affecting competitors. Prosper Marketplace Inc., its largest rival, has met with investors including Fortress Investment Group about potential capital injections, a person with knowledge of the matter said.

Didn't LC raise interest rates sometime in April. I wonder if Jefferies wanted to buy higher interest notes and LC changed origination dates on older notes to look like they had higher interest rate???

PeerCube / Back testing filters
May 05, 2016, 11:00:00 PM
Do i have to connect PC to LC in order to look at Lending Ideas, create custom filters and back test them?
If i want to use automated investing can i use one of the predefined filters and then add my additional filters on top?

I think ideally we would want to see returns data in a format similar to this
http://screencloud.net/v/1T7P" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">http://screencloud.net/v/1T7P

Not sure why LC cannot just code something like this into their site.

P2P-Picks / P2P Picks and NSR
May 12, 2015, 11:00:00 PM
I just signed up for P2P Picks and NSR.

On P2P Picks do i actually have to sign up for PMax etc or are they all automatic?

On NSR i went to
P2P Picks Subscription Options
P2P Picks PMax Top 10%

and clicked Filter button. I ended up with tables with stats but when i go to Common and Credit tabs all the fields are blank. Is this correct?

Is it possible to see P2P Picks values and then change them to see how it will impact a potential portfolio? I am not looking to steal the P2P Picks formula just trying to understand how to use it with NSR.

Investors - LC / Regular account or IRA?
July 03, 2014, 11:00:00 PM
I've been wanting to start investing into LC for sometime but cannot decide whether i should do it in a regular account or IRA. The way i see it here are the major advantages/disadvantages of each

IRA
Advantages:
Money is already locked for a long term so making 3 year loans is not an issue
Tax deferred income
No tax related record keeping headaches

Disadvanages:
Trading on Folio is highly questionable
Transferring money out to another IRA/stock market will be a pain
Possible issues with IRA custodian going out of business

Regular account
Advantages:
Can trade on Folio
After selling on Folio can easily close account and move money into something else

Disadvantages:
Can only write off unpaid loans up to $3000 against regular income
Tax related record keeping a mess especially if selling on Folio
Income gets taxed at highest marginal rate
You have to pay taxes on accrued interest even if it has not been paid to you yet

Anything else that i have missed?

Any recommendations?
