Investors - P / Note gone delinquent
December 30, 2014, 11:00:00 PM
I (almost) always buy only debt_consol/CC_refi notes. Then I watch FICO trends carefully. The FICO trend should rise after the loan issues if the borrower used the funds as stated because they have just traded revolving credit for installment credit. If it doesn't rise I place it up for sale on Folio. After the bump one of two things happen - 1) it stays high and/or goes higher still (borrower really helped by loan consol) or 2) more typically they drift back down (running their cards up again). I sell notes where FICOs have fallen 50+ points from the HIGH POINT.

Investors - LC / my latest data glitch
December 18, 2014, 11:00:00 PM
Before rawraw asks.. I reported to LC as follows.

A) Attached is today's  notes_ext file. You will see that no loans are indicated as on a payment_plan (column AG). However loan 14428544 is in fact on a payment plan.

  https://www.lendingclub.com/foliofn/browseNotesLoanPerf.action?showfoliofn=true&loan_id=14428544&order_id=21291216&" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">https://www.lendingclub.com/foliofn/browseNotesLoanPerf.action?showfoliofn=true&loan_id=14428544&order_id=21291216&  note_id=44851619

B) The note shows as current but on payment plan. The payment on the plan is not due for more than a week so no payment is processing so the note should be salable. Is this not correct?

Status is apparently a subjective judgement at LC (see http://www.lendacademy.com/forum/index.php?topic=2803.msg24953#msg24953" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">http://www.lendacademy.com/forum/index.php?topic=2803.msg24953#msg24953) and they don't seem very concerned about it. I have visions of their "Payment Solutions specialist" passing post-it notes amongst themselves.

General Lending Club Discussion / SAS Analysis
November 02, 2014, 11:00:00 PM
Its been many years since I used SAS and I hated it. I use SPSS, but I think it is quite expensive now after IBM bought the product. If you have a child in high school or college get them to buy you a student version. These are quite reasonable. There is a free knockoff PSPP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSPP" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSPP) but I have never used it. If you try it let me know how you make out.
