Why even bother? If I scaled this to my income, I'd never consider a loan so small.

Nice work - I like seeing the highlighted dots I'm being compared with.

vs All Accounts: 89
vs Similar Age Accounts: 85
vs Similar Age & Similar WAIR Accounts: 44

I have a tax question and this is an area I'm trying to educate myself on so I appreciate any thoughts.

I have one stock holding that I bought in Feb 2013. It's only worth about $1,500, but I'm up about 70% on the investment overall.    Since it's such a small amount I'm considering selling and rolling it into other investments.  By the looks of it, I'll have about $290 of capital losses this year with LC.  Will this help offset some of the gains? What happens to my capital losses if I have no capital gains against it for the current year?  Do losses simply 'roll over' to the next year?

I hope this will help me better understand the tax implications of LC/Prosper as well. Thanks!

Investing - General (not P2P) /

I'd like to hear some thoughts on how they expect retail investors to get access to this asset class in the future.  Will folks like those on this forum simply be in the minority of trying to squeeze out better returns than funds full of notes?  Somewhat similar to buying your own real estate vs buying a REIT fund.

Looking forward to hearing more Emmanuel https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />

Just hopped on twitter and saw tweets from Ron Suber/Prosper that Prosper is going to release 'exciting news' tomorrow.  Any guesses? Filing to go public?

Investors - LC / Loan Information Asymmetrical Timing
September 22, 2014, 11:00:00 PM
For what it's worth I was able to invest in 57 notes (p2p picks top 25% CDE) between 2 release times today. I was a bit surprised to see them this high, but perhaps others are using top 10%?

Foliofn - LC / Automate Note Buying on Folio?

It's against the terms (perhaps why you haven't received any responses) and they might yell at you, but certainly folks are doing this.  I would imagine most people are running something a little more sophisticated than what you mention using.

Investors - LC / FolioFN Return Calculation!!!!!!!
September 17, 2014, 11:00:00 PM
So I commonly use my personal estimates assuming worse case scenario (100% charge off for IGP through Default).  My anar shows actually higher (over 16%) when I use my estimates vs. Lending Clubs (13%). Am I missing something or have I found a bug?  Anyone else see the same behavior?

General P2P Lending Discussion /

As a retail investor it will always be somewhat peer to peer since I'm lending to others. However, as the game has changed - 'Marketplace Lending' makes more sense as I view Lending Club, Prosper etc. as marketplaces that bring together borrowers and lenders.  I have some other gripes like the hashtag #marketplacelending being too long and my poor choice in blog/website name https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />

Ran, you bring up a good point, but there have been times when they aren't originally $25 notes (granted there aren't as many). If you have a fair amount invested, you can look at these notes portions that started at 50, 100 or more.  Availability should get better as time goes on, but perhaps folks will find ways to automate strategies like this.  I've purchased over 180 (over 2k in the portfolio) notes using this method and have been happy with the results so far.   It's a great way to diversify in my opinion.

Hey eastbiz, a couple things to double check...

Configure > Manage Linked accounts > Active account (check box)
Configure > Manage Linked accounts > Linked account settings > Automatically Invest (check box)
LC API key configured?
Configure > Manage p2p-picks settings > Use p2p picks filters first (check box and I'm not sure if this actually matters)

Otherwise, I'm not sure...
