Investing - General (not P2P) / Leveraged ETF Degradation

Leveraged EFTs don't really perform in practice as they are suppose to in theory.

Investors - LC /

I don't see how LC (or Prosper) has much motivation to truly assign interest rates in anything other than being more or less right. They get the origination fee up front, and then get about the same amount of extra income after that regardless of interest rate.

Investing - General (not P2P) / ESPP opinions?
December 12, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
ESPPs typically have a tax benefit to hold for 2 years from the beginning of the ESPP period, which is typically 1.5 years from the purchase date. As you have to hold for a year already, it may be wise to hold a little longer.

Be careful though, if the stock price goes down during the period, it can be advantageous taxwise to NOT hold for the 2 year period.

That said, there is a saying to never make stock decisions based on taxes. https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />

Core is looking forward to the day when it is just him vs. the Koch brothers. I'd put my money (if I had any left) on Core.

Investors - LC / Folio and IRAs
October 28, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
I have no P2P IRA, my interest here is academic. I wonder a few things. Does Prosper allow IRA/Folio trading? I don't find anything on the Prosper website saying either way. Is there any potential liability (to either investors to the the gov't) on LC and P for allowing improper trades?

In my community the local food bank and churches practically beg people to come get free day old bread. And I live in a blue state.

Investors - P / Cancelled notes: any analysis on those
October 21, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
I have not but would be interested in seeing any pattern too. It is indeed very annoying. I had a loan stay at stage 3 for over two weeks before it cancelled. Loans often go from stage 1 to 3 after a week and then an hour later cancel. I had a stage 3 from a previous borrower cancel after about a week. Really? I thought a repeat borrower at stage 3 would be a cinch to fund.

Investors - P / New Listings Appear at Crazy Times
September 05, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
They had system maintenance last night, not sure if the crazy times are related to that or if we should expect them to continue. In an case prosper is dreadfully slow for me today. Is it slow for everyone?
