It's probably not every day that customers go in there to buy bread wearing guns.

Core- Appearance is important!     So you walk into this bakery, strapped, in your overalls wearing your wife-beater tee shirt that says "If your name is Stephanie, draw!"  The baker obviously doesn't know you.  He says to himself,"feed the deer? yea, right! This guy wants the bread to feed the illegals in his meth lab!"   So, he makes up the story to get rid of you.  Appearance is important!     https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />

Suggestions / Feature request: Ignore User

Good suggestion.  However, it is an open forum.  Sometimes words of wisdom/value come from the most unlikely places.  Even whales!!

Investors - LC / Employer removed from loan description
September 28, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
I look at borrowers that can recover from job loss as a way better bet than those that work for big companies.

faeriering:

I agree with your above statement.  However, the problem is we are not provided with the data to find these abovementioned borrowers.  If you believe we are, I'd like to hear from you exactly what they are.

I'd like to know how many dependants the borrower has and marital status.  Really only 1 feature since they are inter-related.  I wouldn't think such info is ""discriminatory.  Just about every form you fill-out asks the same question.

Investors - LC / Consensus question
September 20, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
My personal situation may be different from most other investors.  I've been retired from a regular "job" for 17 years.  I do some venture capital stuff when the opportunity presents itself.  I have never really been into fixed income assets other than tax-free bonds and junk bonds way-back-when.

LC fills my time between golf and other activities, and gets me up before 9 ET.  However, for it to command my attention, as well as a continuous flow of funds, as it now does, I require an IRR >11% which I can comfortly exceed, currently, with a present-day 15.52% NAR.  And this can be increased by liquidating the B notes in my portfolio which I purchased during the first few months on LC.

Would you mind sharing the filters you're using?

I have a similar experience, but, I fail to see what his filters have to do with the problem, assuming he hasn't tightened them recently.  One week, IR is getting me 4-5 loans each release.  The next week, 3-4 of those loans are fully funded before IR can get them.

I have concluded that LC wants to limit the API use by 3rd parties such as IR.  However, individuals can still get a limited number "manually", for the time being, if they are diligent.  Therefore, the individual , who is also an IR subscriber, can get his loans by being diligent ahead of IR, thereby generating the note to himself, "Loan Fully Funded", when, in fact, it is probably less than 50% funded.

I hope the above makes sense.  I am just as frustrated as ahoffman52.

Investors - LC / Low dollar notes do not show up on Folio
September 14, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
Seems they need 5 cents, minimum, per transaction.  It would be a better idea to charge a minimum for their "service" rather than deny a listing.

Investors - LC / Time
September 04, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
Unlike a public company,  you only have limited info on the borrower.  You don't know if he/she is married, how many dependents they have,  how secure is their job/business, etc., etc.

A leap of faith is required to be a lender here.  You need to ask yourself how much risk are you willing to accept and be able to sleep well each night, although you sound like you're a very risk-averse guy even though you're only 27.  I am 77 and only invest in C-G loans, but that's my "play" money and the money from the fixed income portion of my portfolio. (said portion not being relatively large to begin with).

Investors - LC / Do I have this right?

So it seems the whales have not only been invading the pond, but they are dominating it and pooping in it.  We need a new pond.

I'm for shooting the whales as we leave!!  https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/angry.gif" alt=">:(" title="Angry" class="smiley" />

Investors - LC / Why not use an auto-invest service?
August 21, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
Zach-  There is a more basic problem when using IR's auto-invest.  Some of those notes that are selected using your specific criteria are poor investments!  Income too low and DTI too high as an example.  While I use IR's auto-invest, my IR filters are set deliberately to be much tighter thereby yielding about 1 loan for every two that I can capture manually on the LC platform.  That way I can minimize, if not eliminate, the financially weak borrowers.  On an average day, I gross 15 loans @$25.each which is enough for me until LC corrects its way of doing business ( imo, its payment posting and collection practices suck).

Investors - LC / LC website crashed?
August 19, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
From LC venture capitalist's perspective, this is actually a "good" problem to have; much better than the opposite -- having no visitors to your site

No VC wants to see a business interrupted; especially one dependent on internet functionality.

This "event" highlights the necessity for action on Bryce's thread.

I would like an answer to this as well.  Lately,  I have been able to manually pick 2-3 loans for every 1 of IR's by refreshing and continuing to search for loans.  Either confirms the theory that not all loans are released to the API and/or I am catching the loans that are coming out of the shopping cart before IR??

Investors - LC / More gaming of the system ver 2.0?
August 16, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
IMO, there is something else at work here!  This is NOT your pristine note. Income too low; DTI too high. I would expect to see this note paid-in-full when the first payment is due.
