One of the 3 small business owners that have replied so far. When I apply for my next LC loan I'll be sure NOT to list its purpose as business. My business is a small electronics design and manufacturing firm. I was lucky enough to get into something I loved from the start and I still do. Play a little golf but I never plan to retire. I'm very new to P2P and simply enjoy learning new stuff. P2P seemed like a nice way to diversify my retirement portfolio (ok, desperately reach for yield) and also participate in something interesting at the same time. Guess P2P is my next new thing...

Hi to all; glad to be aboard. The first I heard of P2P was about a week ago, so I'm the newbie's newbie. "Got a lot of catchin (sic) up to do." I'm a small business owner and electrical engineer nearing retirement. I learned here that P2P works best within an IRA so that works very well for me. It's said to be another asset class so that will help me diversify. I'm in the process of rolling some funds into a new LC IRA account. I love to learn new stuff and P2P lending is a new challenge. Lots of smart folks on this forum to learn from. Thanks to Peter and all the other contributors. I've read the "Best of" blog posts and the e-book, and maybe I just missed it, but is there a FAQ forum thread? I'd hate to ask the same question(s) covered many times before, but the forum has a lot of posts. I'll use the search feature to try to avoid it, but reading the FAQ's would be interesting.
