Hi,

I put a blob of money in LC last June. After 9 months, over 7% of my notes (combination of 36 & 60 month) have paid off early. Seems like a high percentage. What kinds of rates are others running?

Investors - LC / LC Acct Manager
February 12, 2012, 11:00:00 PM
I don't particularly like my assigned LC "Acct Manager." Nothing big, just personal -- his answers are glib and smooth, but vague and lacking in substance. (I think he used to sell skiboats or aluminum siding?)

Anyone request a new Acct Manager? I silently applaud when someone else picks up, and just ask them my question.

Investors - P / Where are the repeat borrowers?
December 20, 2011, 11:00:00 PM
It sure seemed like the repeat borrowers dried up in Dec.  Either that or more people have them on autoinvest.

My idle money is growing faster than I can invest it.

Any thoughts?

Investors - P / Debt Sales
November 28, 2011, 11:00:00 PM
Hi Peter:

Just had my first charge-off on Prosper.  https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" class="smiley" />

Just to be clear, I understand that the chances of recovering anything on this note are slim, but I also see that Prosper has done Debt Sales in the past. But I don't see any Debt Sale history since 2007. Is this something that the "New" Prosper no longer does?

Is this possible? Can one open a business solely for one's own investments into  Prosper's or LC's notes? I am most interested in it for the tax breaks. Does anyone have some insight on this?

Investors - P / Member Dependent Notes
October 09, 2011, 11:00:00 PM
Thinking about getting into social investing and ran across this term - here on the forum - "member dependent notes"

So, what are they, how are they found, and what is the best way to invest in them?

Would love to hear some insight from those that have profited with these notes.

Investors - LC / Lessons Learned
September 21, 2011, 11:00:00 PM
In the beginning I actually purchased several notes with 6+ inquiries.  Looking back I am not surprised that I had so many charged off.  Another thing that they had in common is that most of these defaults were renters and the loan amounts were small....$2K - $6K range.  After some hard lessons learned and a whole lot of reading I'm experiencing fewer defaults.  Wish I knew then what I know now.

This is my second Prosper loan. I recently paid off my last one (for $25,000), but I am still working on lowering my high interest credit card debt, so this loan will be used to pay off high interest credit cards.  Requesting $20K  https://www.prosper.com/invest/listing.aspx?listingID=490627" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">https://www.prosper.com/invest/listing.aspx?listingID=490627

17% funded so far
Verification Stage 3  https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/smiley.gif" alt=":)" title="Smiley" class="smiley" />

Check out the listing and let me know if you have any questions!

Introductions / Looking forward to some great discussions
September 08, 2011, 11:00:00 PM
Hello all,

My name is Glenn.  I work for Prosper.

I'm personally looking forward to seeing some great discussions about peer-to-peer lending as well as hearing new ideas about how to improve the industry. I'll also answer any questions about Prosper that I see, or at very least, direct you to the right place.

Thanks Peter, for starting up this forum.
