Off Topic / Breakup with girlfriend

Hello guys, I have an unordinary question. I'm in my first relationship for a few months, but I'm already tired of her and I don't know what to do and what I can tell in order not to hurt her. Can smb experienced help me with that?

LC stock has been on a tear since putting in an opening low on 10/29 of $4.42. It was the third time it tested lows in that area.
They announced earnings after the close on 11/4. The stock had moved upwards to $5.55 into the close before earnings were announced.
The day after earnings were announced (11/5 Thursday) the stock was essentially unchanged on very heavy volume.
The next day 11/6 it was hammered back down to $4.99.
Before the open on Monday 11/9 Pfizer announced terrific results of their clinical vaccine trials and everything went up, including LC to $5.60
Things went sideways until 11/18 when LC soared up inexplicably on very heavy volume to close at $6.53.
On 11/20 it closed above its 200 day simple moving average $6.50.
It's been more or less straight up since then and LC closed today at $8.22 on heavy volume, up 86% from the low cited earlier.
However, closing at the low of the day today that saw a high of $8.68 should make tomorrow interesting. I have found absolutely no explanative LC news.
The message is either shorting in a bull market is dangerous or LC has better prospects ahead?
For the record I am neither short nor long, just an interested bystander.

Investors - P / Good Returns on Prosper?
November 01, 2020, 11:00:00 PM
I am trying to decide if I should invest on Prosper, since LC will close down its retail channel. What do the NARs (and seasoned NARs) look like for y'all?

Hello,

I haven't been here in a while, and I took a quick look around to help ensure I wasn't duplicating threads, but does anyone know what note collections will look like now that the announcement and subsequent halting of the Notes platform is here?

If I were a borrower, I would see this as a green-light to default. Has Lending Club said anything about this? Do they have a commitment to maintain their ongoing collections activity?

I'll admit their collections never seemed that impressive in the first place, but my default rates have taken a turn for the worse recently.

I know I look like Scroogey McScroogeface in the face of the pandemic and unemployment, but I still have a big junk of my retirement with Lending Club IRAs that haven't wound down yet.

Thanks.

My REST API procedures are getting the "Forbidden" response as of today.  Have they shut this down, too?  Anybody else have it still working?

Investors - P / Expect Increased Supply of Notes
October 11, 2020, 11:00:00 PM
From Prosper:

In light of recent news that LendingClub is closing its Notes platform effective December 31, 2020, we want to reassure you that Prosper remains committed to growing its retail Notes offering.

We know many of you invest on both Prosper and LendingClub's platforms. We always aim to match the supply of Prosper Notes available for investment with investor demand, and are prepared to increase the supply of Notes in response to additional inflows as investors re-allocate across platforms.

Investors - LC / Delayed charge off
October 10, 2020, 11:00:00 PM
Here's an interesting note that just popped up on my September statement.  Had only one charge off.  Interestingly according to the note, it was charged off 5/28/20 and yet it finally appears on my September statement?  What gives LC?

And I'm sure many of you had the issue that I've experienced that notes were listed as current, NOT on hardship plans, AND the last payment was 2-3 months ago.  When I called LC about it, they were aware of the "technical issue" and had a team working on it with no anticipated resolution date.

Lending Club has told us they will soon announce a special "a high-yield savings account exclusively available to our Notes investors".  What an opportunity!

They have not yet said what the interest rate on this special high-yield account will be.

Would you like to guess?  Place your bets gentlemen.  Pick the answer closest to your guess.

Investors - LC / Post-News IRA Strategy
October 07, 2020, 11:00:00 PM
Like many of you, I still have an active LC IRA through Strata. With the news that LC is closing their retail investment platform at the end the year, I'm curious if there are thoughts with regard to the best way to handle the situation.

With the secondary market already closed, I know there is no longer a way to quickly liquidate the account, so I'm concerned that we will continue to be charged the annual strata account fee while we endure the painful process of watching the loan value dwindle for the next 3-5 years.

Are people planning on continuing with strata (just using other investment vehicles)? For those of us intending to transfer the funds to another IRA, is there a good transfer strategy that minimizes fees?

Love to hear peoples thoughts/strategies. TIA

General P2P Lending Discussion /
September 22, 2020, 11:00:00 PM
Is there a way to get passed P2P's borrower algorithm and be able to talk to an underwriter to provide income documents?  I received an automatic "deny".  I make a very good income without a lot of debt and I am extremely capable of paying off my loan.

I'm in need of a funeral loan for $13500.  I have been with my healthcare system over 11 years; I have lived at 2 addresses in the last 12 years....meaning I am a stable individual.  I started out making $14/hr and I am now at $36/hr.  Nine of those 11 years I was a single mother to my son (with minimal child support) and I financially took care of my OPIAD addicted mom.  She took her own life last August and I need to pay my brothers back my portion of her funeral (they both have lost their jobs due to COVID).  I have an extremely low credit score because I don't have any revolving debt.  I do have, however, a loan my mom took out without my knowledge (I am currently working on getting that removed) that went into collections.

I realize all of this was TMI, but any information is greatly appreciated.

Investors - LC / Lending Club potential new offerings
August 27, 2020, 11:00:00 PM
Did anyone else take the survey LC sent in regards to their potential new offers?  They have been talking about expanding in banking areas.  The survey was asking questions about a lot of potential offerings. The three that peaked my interest were:

1-A CD that is tied to an index (i.e. S&P) and has a floating rate of return.

2-A CD that is tied to an index of Lending Club notes.

3-A high interest saving accounts for investors of Lending Club notes.

We'd need to see many details in regards to interest rate, risk, minimum deposits, ect, but I think the concepts were sound.

Any thoughts?

Since they announced it was closing I sold 705 notes, which was 80% of my holdings. All that's left now are notes maturing in 6 months or less, plus a handful of "hardship" loans I was unable to sell. In six months I'll transfer the remaining cash out of my account, "gift" any remaining hardship loans to LC, and be gone.
