Suggestions / Verification questions

I don't get these types of verification questions anymore but they were cumbersome.

Wow a lot of hostility here!  https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" class="smiley" />

zpbsfg.....IMO it would not make a difference in most people's returns if LC was more aggressive towards charged off notes because the more aggressive they are, the more their service charge is going to be.

In my main LC account I have 1000+ C and lower notes, none of which are even late. I do what TcH does and sell them while they are in grace period.

The notes.csv file you are requesting from DanB is not proof of anything. The file can easily be modified to not include any distressed notes. A screen shot or video would be better proof.

I do agree with you when you say LC should provide more recovery statistics beyond the one chart that is not up-to-date.

Investors - LC / Has LC loan quality dropped?
December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM
Yea I have noticed this for D-G loans. I don't invest in A-C loans so can't say anything about them but for D-G it is much harder to find loans that fit my filters.  November was fine it all started in December.

Introductions / Welcome to the Lend Academy Forum

Jim just some advice before you get an account. Make sure you take advantage of the referral links/promotions that both LC and prosper have. I really regret not doing so.  https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" class="smiley" />

Well a friend of mine asked me if I could loan him some money. I really did not want to because everybody knows how that turns out. So I did some research for him and found prosper. He got his loan and I was interested in the concept of inverting in consumer credit. I did some research and found that prosper had competition, LC. So I did a comparison and LC appealed to me more.

Investors - LC / FMV of distressed notes
December 17, 2012, 11:00:00 PM
A bot is basically like a robot that does something on a computer. So for example if you have a web site that has ad you can download a bot that spend all day clicking on the ad (making you money). But this is how you use a bot for evil, in this case it would goes through loans and gathers info that can't be downloaded from LC like current employer.

I think I can find a couple of people to work on a bot like this, if nobody on here know/has the time to make one. But most likely they will want a "donation" or something.

The major problem would be getting the the urls of the loans
Example:
https://www.lendingclub.com/account/loanDetail.action?loan_id=1690172" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">https://www.lendingclub.com/account/loanDetail.action?loan_id=1690172
https://www.lendingclub.com/account/loanPerf.action?loan_id=1690172&order_id=4222605&note_id=15084777" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">https://www.lendingclub.com/account/loanPerf.action?loan_id=1690172&order_id=4222605&note_id=15084777

One way could be by using folio but that only has 5000-10,000 loans out of the 90,000+ that were issued.

Can anyone think of a solution to this?

Investors - LC / FMV of distressed notes

I base my prices off this chart and it has worked out pretty well for me.
https://www.lendingclub.com/public/images/43423/transactional/misc/recoveryStats.png" alt="" class="bbc_img" />
So for example if a note is in grace period, I mark it down 16% not including folios fee and also not including accrued interest.
For everyday it's still on the market I mark it down 0.5% more. I try to get rid of a note when it's in grace period.
You also have to keep in mind the competition, so what I do is sort by loan id to find out what others are pricing the note at.

Investors - LC / Still having trouble with Foliofn

I would never recommend sorting by YTM on folio, the numbers are almost always wrong.

Sarah I'm pretty sure that is a good thing for the buy, because you would see the note has $0.32 accrued interest but when you would buy it, it will actually has $0.77 accrued interest. This will be bad for sellers because their loans may appear over priced. Luckily I'm not having this problem with any of my notes. Does this happen to you guys frequently?

If you sell any of these I will shoot my self in the leg  https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/shocked.gif" alt=":o" title="Shocked" class="smiley" /> cause I mark mine up 2% and they are hard enough to sell  https://forum.lendacademy.com/Smileys/default/cry.gif" alt=":'(" title="Cry" class="smiley" />

Investors - LC / LC is planning to go public!!!
November 24, 2012, 11:00:00 PM
I was under the impression that LC was trying to be independent and not go public. But after watching this video where CEO Renaud Laplanche says "...we are making plans for the next 10 to 20 years and part of these plans is taking the company public" I got so excited!

Link to the video

If the company ever did go public I would without a doubt invest. I have no doubt that the company will grow 1000% and I will get more than my money's worth back. Would any one else here invest?
