My guess is they discount the interest in the same way as the principal. That's what I did,

I'm doing the opposite! I'm buying derivatives against their stock as a hedge against collapse of my notes! Just kidding, although at some point I bet that is used for funds.

You are missing something. Incorporate the interest rate into your selection of notes. Then if LC changes it, so too will your selection of notes. If LC today made a stray "A" note with 40% interest, it would automatically be at the top of my profit max list.

The past is the absolute best thing we have to predict the future. I imagine LC set their initial risk model with personal loan data from some other market, and then has updated it as their own loans matured. How else are you imagining they set interest rates besides historically consistent relationships between borrower characteristics and the probability of default?

Lending Club does not release a download of all the applications that made it to the platform. A number of people have archived everything at release time, but even these are not necessarily complete for at least the following reasons:

1) lots of people don't see the whole loans.
2) some loans are gone (I.e. Not downloaded) by the time slower people detect that the loans are even available.
3) I have my suspicions that not every loan even hits the platform for the general marketplace.

BlueVestment / BlueVestment Offering Free Auto-Invest
January 07, 2014, 11:00:00 PM
BlueVestment, with which I've worked to integrate P2P-Picks, has decided to offer their services completely free of charge. As far as I can tell, this is indefinite, not a trial offer. I thought the forum might be interested to learn about this. Great value for those wanting to auto-invest using custom filters (or integrate with my service).

Of course, LC's agreement with the borrower cannot fly in the face of the California statute which trumps it. It seems the law would win out. It's like a state making a law that opposes federal law, which would hold. Go go severability clause.

Nice. I posted mine in my portfolio returns page on the P2P-P forum area, but here it is again. Definitely love this chart. Sure aren't many red dots on your page!

  • 36 month loans only
  • No trading of notes
  • Strategy selects approximately 10% of all available 36 month loans (large availability)

There were some stealthy major changes yesterday, too.

We all knew this was coming. I suspect half the people on this board will now disappear into the void.

Investors - LC / Cancelled notes: any analysis on those

He's saving all the browseNotes files. Good job, Anil. I've definitely experienced a larger proportion of As and Bs getting issued than my higher risk portfolio.

Yes, I think charge offs happen twice monthly. Sometime around the 5th and the 20th IIRC.

Yup, the new ones say Job Title. BrowseNotes V7 also. Hate these silent updates. They really waste my time.

Depending on the area of the country, house flipping is like musical chairs. Speculation not investment.
