Investors - LC /

I can't fathom how an English literacy handicap this serious can go hand in hand with an $8333/mos. income.  One scenario I've come up with is that of a smart person who absorbed English only by listening to it.  Another is a lie about the income.  The loan appears to be canceled now.

When I first saw it while browsing I was distracted for minutes while musing whether the person ever saw the inside of a classroom.  Then I thought of how difficult it must be to learn a foreign language from people who don't speak clearly, and wondered if that was the case.

When the written expression quality does not match the income value I tend to back away.  That's the OC teacher in me, but I try not to be as hard on others as I am on myself because my own mistakes are enough to live with!  The older I get the more I make, darn it!

Thanks for sharing those!  I've noticed the same trend toward no collections efforts in March that your defaults seem to have.

In the past week I've accepted some new notes with similar income levels requesting low amounts.  Going to rethink that (as if I didn't know better!!, lol) and hope LC removes them instead of issuing them!

Investors - LC / Did payments not post today?

What method do you use to determine when a payment was due?
Mine that show up as grace are actually in grace.  There's something I don't know
about how to tell the difference!

Are your 3/3s also processing or are they posted?  My 3/3s onward are all processing.

Very enlightening.  Thanks!
It's motivation to stop messing around from 7-8 (my 6-7 time here) and get to browsing!

Investors - LC / LC Tax Documents available now!
December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM
On the Account Summary page I click on "My notes-at-a-Glance", and then on the blue number after "Charged Off" at the bottom.  On that page, I sort by "Payment Due Date" to get all the 2012s at the top.  Then I click on the/each blue "Charged Off" in turn to look at the "Issued Date".  In the "Payment History" on that same page it confirms the same date for "Charged Off" that was the "Payment Due Date".

As bad as this sounds, it's the easiest and fastest way I've come up with.   For taxes, the sale's price is zero (thanks for someone here for pointing that out!).

If anybody without Excel has a better way, I'm all ears!

Investors - LC / This one surprised me
December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM
I like it too, for those reasons.  But the DTI shows s/he is paying $1339/mos. on something owed, including the RCB.  That makes the monthly obligation a little high.  Job stability may by a factor, and if the mortgage is being paid (how would we know?) the loan may cure.  I'm surprised I didn't take it, because I remember looking up the employer and giving it a second look.

Could it be that more responsible people have learned that trying to borrow your way out of debt is a bad idea?

Is there some easier way to relist notes on the canceled list than finding them again on the general all notes list?

I can't believe there isn't a "Relist" box to check after a note is removed for "Loan PAYMENT", or by "User" for whatever reason.  That happened to 4 of mine yesterday.  I'm on a Folio learning curve and it's gobbling up re-investment time!

Investors - P / How Can Prosper Improve for Investors?
December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM
Dagilbe, +1 for above post.  Thanks for writing it all out.

#s 2,3,5, 9 if possible, and 10 would get me back on board.  LC loses points for ease of use, but at least it has some information.

For what it's worth, I was wondering what impact Amazon and PayPal might have on LC if they get something similar going as they say they are working on.

My problem is that the unread posts that show are from several threads, which is interesting but I still have to manually find the place I left off reading on each thread.  Other sites don't work that way.  They just go to what I haven't read yet on the current thread I'm trying to read--big time and frustration saver!

General P2P Lending Discussion /

When you say you looked at loans requesting double or more the debt owed, do you mean the stated RCB, or the salary times DTI, or according to volunteered information?

LC does not include mortgage in DTI, but Prosper does, according to prior discussions someplace.  I asked LC about this once and received a good reply which I can't find, so I must have cleaned my mailboxes too diligently!

I spend more time than I should comparing DTI to salary and loan payment amount.  The 2% info about defaults for double or more requested is helpful--thanks!
