Investors - LC / RIP Lendingclub Notes

I don't suppose Lending Club will continue updating their data on issued loans and payments? It'd be great if we could get one more file on issued loans (covering 2020 Q4) and then still get updated CSV files on loan payments until the end. I've emailed Lending Club to find out the answer and have gotten no response.

Investors - LC / Supplemental data for analysis?
July 06, 2018, 11:00:00 PM
Hi everyone. I stopped investing in LC a while back but I'm interested in doing some data analysis for fun. I was hoping people could recommend supplemental data sources to look at in addition to what is provided by Lending Club.

For example, LC had to remove the last 2 digits of the zip code because investors were gathering geographic data from outside sources and using it to avoid loans in certain neighborhoods (at least that's the story I remember).

Can anyone recommend what data sources might be used in addition to what LC provides in order to analyze loans?

I had the same error message. What it ended up being was my portfolio contained a loan that apparently had $0 in remaining principal but some interest remaining. You should sort your loans by outstanding principal and see if you have something similar.

I had liquidated my taxable account in anticipation of rolling over a Roth IRA to Lending Club for 2017. This thread is one of the reasons I'm hesitating now.

Hillary Clinton did say she wanted a "Manhattan Project" to break encryption. Not breaking encryption keeps FinTech companies more secure. I am not sure of Trump's position on cryptography though or if he has one at all.

Investors - LC / LC - end of Quarter effect
March 23, 2016, 11:00:00 PM
My father just opened a Lending Club account and I've been running it with my automated investing code. Last week my filter was giving me around 20 loans each day. Now though I haven't managed to buy a single loan within the past two days.

It turns out changing my password messed up the task scheduler and my code wasn't running properly.

Investors - LC / Oil - are you redlining any states?

Florida apparently produces 6 thousand barrels of oil per day. This is insignificant compared to the US total of 9,347 thousand bpd. I personally just limit my investments in each state to be no more than 5% of my total portfolio value. I don't really worry about regional recessions any more now that California, Texas, Florida, and New York aren't making up 80% of my portfolio.

I just used a friend's address for 4 years since I live in Michigan. LC only sends you documents electronically.

I haven't done a new backtest in a while but IIRC debt consolidation/credit card loans performed 1%+ better when the revolving loan balance was greater than the requested loan amount.
