April 17, 2014, 11:00:00 PM
Has anyone been able to put any notes for sale in the last few days?
It gives me an error every time.

Investors - LC / Folio and IRAs
March 16, 2014, 11:00:00 PM

I'm waiting for them to 'get their ducks in a row'.. while my IRA return keeps going down and down since I can't (or shouldn't) reinvest anything.
With the current mess I'd be perfectly happy to sell my IRA portfolio and transfer to another investment.. Of course I can't (or shouldn't) do that either.

Investors - LC / Folio and IRAs

I was really hoping for a clearer resolution at this point.

This leaves those of us in folio-only states who have IRAs that were started before any rule changes, in quite a pickle..

I'm just wondering what the best course of action is for those in Folio only states that have an IRA.

Just sit there and wait for clarification from LC?
Wait for years and then transfer to a different IRA?

It seems like if this was resolved at Prosper, they could allow trading again at LC.

That is actually a huge improvement that will hopefully lead to a better folio marketplace.

This is interesting.. and definitely new..

I've had an IRA for a few years in a folio only state, so not sure what exactly I'm supposed to do now.

The language could be interpreted that it applies only to notes purchased through the normal investment process.. although not sure...

They are certainly well aware of which state I'm in.. and the fact that I actively use foiliofn and haven't seen any notice or received any communication from them regarding it.

I prefer this way.. but as always it would be nice if there was some sort of notice...

Investors - LC / How much discount is typical

Personally I wouldn't buy a note that has never made a payment.

That said, you might be able to sell it for 5-10, but I doubt you could get away with 15 or more unless the buyer completely ignores the fact that there were 0 payments.
Just my thoughts..

Investors - LC / Employer removed from loan description
September 25, 2013, 11:00:00 PM

I don't like this at all. Since I can only use FolioFN, I feel like I lost one of the most valuable pieces of information.
I used to be able to skip plenty of loans because I know that company x or y was laying off people or that a particular government position was no longer secure, while some others might be.
Job title provides nearly no useful information, especially in the current era of corporate speak.

I'm sure we can all look forward to 1000s of loans to 'associates', 'coordinators', 'managers' and 'consultants'..
In fact a 'consultant' is a perfect and very informative title for everyone from a hairdresser, to networking engineer, to someone unemployed looking for work...

Investors - LC / verified income...?

So I wouldn't buy this for a number of reasons, but I also have some trouble believing the income..

I mean 400k a year for someone at a car dealership...

Now it might be possible that they had a particularly outstanding month, and submitted the totals for that month.
Then the DTI doesn't make sense, at least as far as I can tell.

Investors - LC / Why not use an auto-invest service?

I wouldn't invest in this primarily because of the delinquencies.. but taking a second to read the details really makes me wonder...

Supposedly nearly 270k income...
Home ownership: Rent
Loan description: ... ... to finance a pool...
Q & A ...  rent is 2000

So this person makes over a quarter million a year.. wants a loan for 30k to finance a pool at their home which they rent.

Another one in IT..

Mostly Healthcare IT consulting and application/system architecture.
A few tech and non-tech projects on the side, but not quite enough to quit my main job.
