Investors - LC / What to do with notes like these.......
September 15, 2013, 11:00:00 PM
Notes like these drive me crazy - the payment was due a while ago, yet there is no information saying the payment failed, etc, so I never know what to think.  Usually I dump them at a big loss, then the payment shows up within a day or two.  Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks!

I've noticed the same thing - many more notes available, but far fewer that meet the criteria I've set up.  To me, it seems like there are a lot more loans for small business purposes and less for debt consolidation, but that's just my gut feeling - I don't have any hard numbers to compare.

Not that I've found either.  I try to narrow the search using the buttons at the top, then sort by Loan Number - this also lets you see if anyone else is selling a note from the same loan.  (I like to see how other folks are pricing their notes from the same loan)

Investors - LC / The great loan drought of October 2012
October 19, 2012, 11:00:00 PM
Well, as annoying as it is to have money sitting around and not enough notes to invest in, I think it is important that Lending Club is sticking to their strict loan criteria.  I wouldn't want LC to start lowering their standards in order to make more loans available.

Honestly, I think it is a simple supply and demand scenario - as the popularity of P2P lending grows, and more big-money investors come on board, it takes more and more loans to meet that demand.  Personally, I don't think enough borrowers are aware of companies like Lending Club and Prosper.  For anyone with good credit and a substantial credit card balance, it's a no-brainer to consolidate their debt with a P2P loan, but most people I've talked to haven't heard of this option.....  Just my 2 cents worth........
