Hi, do any of the third party services have "alerting" if your notes for sale have collection notes added? I've had two notes get picked from me that out of the blue got the "borrower promised to pay" note, and then the notes went current (they were 31-120). They were bought about after the notes appeared, but before i looked to see if any new collection notes were there. I'm thinking some folks have an "automated" way of scanning fore new collection notes.....

Investors - LC / Oil - are you redlining any states?
« on: January 06, 2016, 12:00:00 AM »
Hi,

What states are people not lending to, due to the drop in oil prices? I noticed a Florida loan last night that was getting zero funding, looked decent, but was higher grade and in FL. I'm thinking of eliminating FL, TX. Is FL oil producing?

Investors - LC / Recovery rates
« on: January 06, 2016, 12:00:00 AM »
For the past year, I've been receiving approx 14% recovery (before fees) on my loans that have been charged off. Is that about what others have been receiving?

Hi Logan,

A few comments: 1) I highly recommend Vanguard. 2) I started with a cash account at LC. I'm moving my interest payments over to my LC IRA accounts (one for me one for my wife). Eventually, I'll have a mix of taxable and tax free money cash flow that will help fund my retirement. BUT, LC isn't a very liquid investment, so make sure it isn't the majority of your retirement accounts. I'm 48, and currently my accounts are earning about 20k/year. Hoping to build that to 30k/40k/50k.... :)

At the risk of asking someone to spill their secrets, are you the guys buying up the $2/$3 31-120 notes? Sold you a few this month. I'm a loan holder myself. To each their own.

Indifferent about the change, but really scratching my head. Why wouldn't they send out an email about this in advance? Since they didn't, I had already sent of an email to my rep asking why my balance is screwy. I'm sure customer service is fielding extra calls/emails today.

GS,

I've been preaching that also. Bigger note amount = less work for investor. If you already have 100-200 notes, you should be transitioning to 50/75/100 dollar notes.

Investors - LC / Why not use an auto-invest service?
« on: August 20, 2013, 11:00:00 PM »
As I just posted in Bryce's thread, I haven't had much problem manually buying loans, so I haven't looked into the IR auto invest (I am an IR member though and use other features of the web site). I buy 100 dollar notes, so i don't need as many loans to get my money in. But i have over 100k so there's constantly paid-off/new payments coming in, so i re-invest a few times a week.

I have my filters set and i buy whatever matches my filter. I do a quick review in the cart since there still is no filter i know of native to LC.com that will check current debt vs requested loan amount.

7/16 notes should have processed today, correct? I checked at 1:15 Pacific and 65 notes already marked paid/current, and just 3 stragglers. System upgrade?

Rawraw, could you clarify what you mean by "rate"  in the folio sentence?

"My rate for my LM portoflio is 11%."

is rate = return, or percentage of loans you are able to invest in via P2Ppicks.

"What's the difference between "Debt / income" in 1) and "DTI ratio" in 4) ?"

I think he is multiplying the monthly income by 12 ( Total Income), then comparing the revolving debt balance number. DTI is (monthly debt payment)/(monthly income). The debt payment could be pretty low, since it could be minimum payments on credit cards.

Investors - LC / Payment as a percentage of Monthly Income
« on: May 22, 2013, 11:00:00 PM »
GS - thank you very much for the research! I try to stick to 10% max.

Rajuabju - I think you are correct. These charts may show a slight shift at various monthly income level. The inflection point probably increases as income increases.

1) why are any of you holding notes until they charge off?    :)

2) I recall last year around this time I received a recovery payment. Maybe they happen quarterly?

3) Is the recovery about 3-5%?

4) yaoyao - go to Account summary, the click on the MORE DETAILS hyperlink in the middle left section
