As
announced on June 29th, P2P-Picks now has Prosper Publications. However, it's only available via their API, not through the website.
Questions:
- Are there any services that currently utilize P2P-Picks' Prosper API for automatic investing?
- Are there any services or websites that display P2P-Picks' Prosper Publication picks for manual investing?
- Where can a programmer get the info needed to access P2P-Picks' Publications, either LC or Prosper?
I have a personal prosper - p2p pics system working for me.
Let me know if you are interested.
johnh...
Nice, WTG. I should have an announcement soon about a partner for retail.
I'm so proud of myself!
After a really long break from coding, I decided to learn a new language (
Python) to code an automated solution using
P2P-Picks' Prosper Publications.
The first live run was today and it worked! Still some bugs to work out but overall, the program logic is valid and operational.
I'm particularly proud of:
- Handling exceptions, which occur more often than I thought, mainly due to network connectivity.
- The function that turns auto-investing on/off around Prosper's feeding times, even accounting for the different weekend times. Theoretically, I could let the program run 24/7 on my recently purchased Raspberry Pi B+.
There are lots of experienced programmers on this forum but as one that's more green, I'm really happy with my accomplishment.
Good work! How did you (1) prevent double investing and (2) handle timing to start/stop? I put mine on a cron job and just run it for 5 minutes.
Right, but in my experience 99% of loads finish within 5 minutes.
But the Prosper Publication is continually updated throughout the 1-hour feeding window, correct?
I noticed that the number of picks start at zero, then increases in a stepwise fashion, then decreases in a stepwise fashion till it becomes zero again. I guess the increase is due to new picks as loans are loaded during the feeding window. What determines when a pick is removed from the publication?
The query returns the picks within the last hour. So at the start, nothing was picked within the prior hour. Then it increases as picks occur, then after the hour, it starts to decline because no more picks were made after the first hour finished.
Thanks for the clarification.
Now comes the hard part... optimizing for performance.
Welcome to the game!
Yes! Aloha Picks. I want all of my loans to be optimized for maximum taste of golden pineapple.
