Another SMF forum that I admin on was attacked in the last 24 hours as well. Recruit more moderators to handle these as they come in and it helps a lot.

The attackers are obviously automated. The spam messages (from each account) came at precise repeating intervals.
Thank goodness they had the courtesy to mostly post on the off-topic board.
In any case, I think once they get some success you can only expect more.

Now everywhere you find only spam comments, honestly you don't even know how to get rid of them. And the fact that you delete them and find a double during the day kills me every time. It adapts every time like viruses. Joke with meaning, especially during this period. However, from my own experience I can say that spam comments are not yet the worst thing, worse are the phone calls made every day by robots. This number 8008922253 has become my biggest nightmare.

The problem is that there is virtually no interest in peer to peer lending. With that being the situation there are few legitimate questions and the spam, while not terribly frequent, really sticks out.
